POPULATION CONTROL – THE RISE OF EUGENICS
Eugenics is the idea of the survival of the fittest.
Eugenics is the self-direction of human evolution.
It is a study of altering human beings by changing their genetic components
The foundations of Eugenics was drawn from the studies of MENDELL, a biologist, who studied the hereditary characteristic of Pea plants and observed that some of the healthy characteristics could be passed on and predicted. HERBERT SPENCER, extended the hereditary idea, the thread, that would make one plant or an animal more fit to survive than others. CHARLES DARWIN furthered the idea and mapped the process of how Genetic material is passed on in the process of Evolution. Thus came into existence the infamous quote “survival of the Fittest” though it was known all along that it is not just the ‘Fittest’ who survive, nor the ‘weak’ who perish, and Natural Selection is guided by the Divine and does not occur naturally.
